Paratus is led by renowned claims specialist Sean Hayes, and was founded by legal entrepreneurs Nathan Hepple and Brett Ablong. It evolved from the Customer Assistance Centre founded by HBA partner Geoff Brookes in the late 90s, which became the only Australian claims management business to be wholly owned by a law firm (HBA Legal).

Paratus is part of the HBA Group, also comprising HBA Legal and business processing and tech solutions outsource enterprise, Pillion.  Each of these entities helps power the other, and together create a truly unique market proposition in the provision of legal, claims and business services.

Julie is a former practising psychologist who went on to become a psychological claims specialist for workers’ compensation claims. She has 13 years’ experience across the insurance industry, also holding strategic senior operational roles with numerous organisations.  Julie is a Certified Practising Project Director with Six Sigma Black Belt project management accreditation. She delivers business transformation for our clients under program management methodology with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives, risk mitigation and change management.
